VIETNAM & JAPAN

When you can’t decide between one destination and another, the solution is simple: combine them into a single trip.

This idea gave rise to this unusual itinerary, a 22-day journey that brings together two countries that seem to look at each other from opposite ends of the same continent, profoundly different in many ways.

On the one hand, Japan, which we explored in 12 days, mostly with a hire car: a place we already knew and which confirmed, once again, how much it gets under your skin. A country of rigour, precision and deep respect, where every gesture seems to have meaning and every detail is perfectly balanced. Returning there was not a step backwards, but a chance to go deeper.

On the other hand, Vietnam, experienced in 10 intense and surprising days, where the journey changed tone and pace. Here, everything is more instinctive, more alive, more unpredictable: a land that captivates with the power of nature and the simplicity of everyday life. Rice fields stretching to the horizon, waterways crossed by simple boats, and the imposing cliffs of Ha Long Bay. It is a place that does not demand control, but adaptation; not perfection, but simplicity.

If it is true that the most authentic journey is the one we take within ourselves, this time we did it twice: first by rediscovering emotions we had already experienced, but with new eyes; second by letting ourselves go, appreciating the unexpected and simple things, those that remind us how little it sometimes takes to feel truly far away, yet incredibly present.
